| China encourages foreign businesses to build hospitals
During the 2007 Public-Private Sector Cooperation Forum (Health), one investor segment of the World Bank Group expressed its desire to promote cooperation between public and private medical institutions in China, particularly by investing in hospitals. The International Finance Corporation (IFC) hopes to invest US$700 million in Chinese hospitals during the 2006/2007 fiscal year. According World Bank (WB) spokesperson, the WB has already invested in two medical projects in China, providing a 64.88-million-yuan loan to Hemujia hospital and its clinics in Beijing and Shanghai, and a 64-million-yuan loan to Albert Ophthalmology Hospital. Analysts say that the rapid development of the medical service market in China has created a lot of investment opportunities in recent years.
USAFE medics treat 250 Ghanaians in 7 hours for Navy study
4/11/2007 - VOLTA, Ghana (AFNEWS) -- A team of six U.S. Air Forces in Europe medics worked side by side with Ghanaian military doctors and saw 250 patients in seven hours April 10 in the jungle village of Taviefe, Ghana. The medics are in Ghana for a weeklong joint medical mission providing care to locals on Lake Volta as part of a Navy leishmaniasis study, which is a study of several infectious diseases. .
Teen undergoes surgery after mower shoots wire into abdomen
A Ceres teen underwent emergency surgery Thursday afternoon after a piece of metal coat hanger was shot into his abdomen as he was mowing the grass. “That thing nearly went through him like a bullet," said Brian Weber, Fire Division commander of the Ceres Department of Public Safety. The 17-year-old boy was mowing grass at A&L Products in the 1900 block of Kinser. The boy was wearing protective eye goggles and earplugs but inadvertently ran over the piece of metal when the blade picked it up. Weber said the metal shot through the grass catcher bag, and through several layers of shirt before puncturing his abdomen. “He didn't realize how bad it was nor did his mom," said Weber. The boy was first taken to the HealthWorks facility on Mitchell Road where doctors realized that the metal went in deep near his navel.

The Villa won AGAIN and enjoyed a few days in the top half of the table and what with the sun shining, the blossom hanging heavy on the trees, and the young pretties wearing barely enough clothing to keep them alive, I seem to have spent the whole week, exclaiming the word 'marvellous'. Slightly nutty, I know, but it does tend to cheer you up, so why not try it yourself. Just look at what ever delights your eye and say it out loud - Marvellous!
Villa's win was pretty bloody marvellous (sorry about the expletive but the superlative needs emphasis) and if three goals weren't enough, the fact that it was against Middlesbrough, added to the sense that it was a bit special. There's nothing in particular to really dislike about the Teesside club; they have never been that good to excite real enmity.
